Connecting people to the land, gardening skills, and fresh, locally grown food

The Long Island Community Agriculture Network is dedicated to increasing public awareness and knowledge of the art and science of sustainable food and agriculture and of its connection to individual, community and global health, well being and food security. Knowledge sharing activities include creating local community gardens, organizing educational outreach workshops and communications, and facilitating equitable community access to agricultural resources such as mentors, markets, land, tools, seeds, and soil amendments.

From container to garden plot to farm, the Long Island Community Agriculture Network will connect urban and suburban dwellers to the land and provide opportunities to access and the skills to grow safe, nutritious food for themselves, their families and the community, thereby contributing to the alleviation of hunger and to the improvement of public health. The Community Agriculture Network promotes organic and sustainable food, gardening and farming.
